After weighing several options, Memphis University School chose FieldTurf to be the synthetic turf of choice on their Stadium Football Field Renovation project.

Once the sub grade was achieved, nearly 1,200 linear feet of 10' line was installed and tied into the existing storm drainage system. Once this collector line was in place, Athletic Fields installed nearly one mile of Multi-flow drainage beneath the aggregate and the sub-soils.

Athletic Fields specified and used (2) types of aggregates to create the sub-base. The first layer of stone consisted of 4 inches of a washed stone. This very porous, coarse stone has a large amount of air space, which allows water to rapidly enter the Multi-flow drainage. Then, a second layer of a finer stone (choker layer) was installed and the field was ready for turf installation.

All of these materials were laser graded within 1/4" tolerances as they were installed.

Athletic Fields was determined to deliver MUS the best of the best in synthetic stadium fields. By choosing Athletic Fields for their largest sports field project to date, MUS made a decision to entrust this project to our company and anything less than perfect would not be acceptable. According to the Athletic Director for MUS, “the field has exceeded all of our expectations”.
